Innuendo
By C.S. Reid

A phone call left unanswered.
Dark musings blur
lines that separate
authenticity from dreams,
a silhouette in passing?
opalescent betty page?
scalding a judgment
of impropriety, growing
(ever silent, like sin
inherent in darkness),
as each anonymous
envelope appears.

C.S. Reid holds a MFA in Writing & Critical Theory from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles, CA. Her work has been featured in Apt, Poems-For-All (chapbook mini-series), The Truth About The Fact: International Journal of Literary Nonfiction; and a poetry chapbook, Walking Near the Precipice, published by Lily Press. Currently, she is a jazz music reviewer and an elementary educator for the LAUSD.
